I bought an '85 Ford F150 4WD with an inline six cylinder. I took the inline six out and replaced it with a 302 from an '84 Mustang GT, inwhich has been newly rebuilt from the ground up about a year ago. I have also put on a set of 33x12.50x15 tires on 10 inch wide rims. My problem is... I have a Holley Truck Avenger carb on a stock aluminum intake and it feels like there's not a whole lot of power on the low-end. What can I do to get more power on the low-end if that's the problem? And what's the difference between a 500 and a 600 cfm? Someone said that the carb that I have just might be to big for my purpose, I don't really know!
you may try a carb spacer to give it more low end...(4 hole 1")over size tires will make a truck dog at the start..a gear change may help...does the carb work good after it gets going??
I was thinking about going with the Edelbrock Performer Series intake and carb setup for more low-end power, I think it's like from idle to 5500r's. What do guy's think?
