Some of you may know last week my CPS died,, Well when they scanned my truck it was full of codes, they all cleared when they replaced the cps except one which turned out to be a exhaust back pressure sensor bad conection.
When my truck died it was progammed with my tuner, so after calling my dealer and they said someone was on the way i got my tuner out from behind the seat and put everything back to stock. I live in a very small town, and my dealer is cool with tuners and chips, they do ask that you remove them before bringing in for service, but thats it. I told them what i did and asked if there was any evidence of it ever being tuned. They said if i wasnt doing anything to come by monday morning and they would dig a little deeper and see what they could find. Dropped it off this morning and they called a minute ago and said no codes and no evidence of any tuner or chip ever being on my truck.
I thought somewhere here on FTE someone once said there would always be a code in there from using a tuner?
With the advancement of the programming of these tuners it is hard to see if you have used them, sometimes the dealer does a deeper scan of you pcm to see when the last reflash was, most of the don't go that far.
I really thought they would have found something. Especially since looking for traces of a tuner was the whole purpose for them having my truck today. These guys are really straight up kinda people,, Still have my doubts though..
