In my area of SW Arizona, it will be in the mid 60s F during the next few days and in the mid 30s F at night. The ground is still staturated from the hard rains we had a few weeks ago. So the night dampness makes it feel colder at night. Looks like we may get a few showers over the weekend.
The last time it snowed here was in 1985 when my son was 4. Cold winter back then. We had a few weeks of below freezing temps at night and just at freezing during the day. So when the next storm came, it snowed enough to leave a good dusting all over the ground, coat the Palo Verde Trees and any cactus. Enough to show him how to make snowballs. Lasted only a day though but the surrounding mountains kept their caps for quite some time. Had not snowed that low since (below 1300 feet).
At least I took a bunch of photos of him playing in it and what the surrounding landscape looked like.
Its funny as much as I hate winter. There is no way I could live in an area where there wasnt seasonal changes... I was down in Bay City Texas one christmas and hated it. Walking around in shorts and no shirt on christmas day just isnt right It funny how you complain about the weather then miss it when it isnt there
Kinda funny we where talking on another forum how Alaska has the 4 seasons, luke warm, cold, really cold, and your kidding right
Folsk i may take off the rest of the week after I get off at 0700 today. I'm switching my Monday morning shift with the guy who is working Christmas day for two reasons. (1) Other than I have to work Sunday morning, I am scheduled to work Monday and off on Christmas day but (2) I don't have a wife or kids, my mom's side of the family doesn't get together till late Christmas day anyway and my dad's side gets together the day after Christmas it will work better for me. Sunday I would really like to go to church to see all the Christmas and Easter folks and those who are here visitng their parents over the weekend, dad's side gets together that night and since I cannot sleep before my first night in I'd either have to miss one or the other on Sunday, and I love seeing all of my family again (65 of us or so).
Since I'd like for my coworker to be with his wife and daughter than me just sleeping and laying around that morning I've offred to switchim days. It's a go so far.
Any of you guys going to be around On Chrsitmas day to keep me company?

We're do for 5"-9" of snow Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. Hope we get it oo, I have a hunt planned for Wed, morning, it would be nice with a 6" coating on the ground. Birds hold a little tighter that way, scent conditions are good, it's cold. That takes care of 2 of the bad W's (warm, wet, and windy). The wet part is good but too much water is not, just enough to knock the dry pollen and dust down is all we need. Too warm and the green smell of grass is strong plus the birds don't hold tight. Windy bolws scent by dogs and they can't smell from upwind. Hence the three W's of bird hunting. Now we're eduymacated a little tonight.
