I had a rattle in the driver's door. Took it into service, 1/2 hour later the service writer told me it was a screw rattling around. Only rattle now is below the dash.
I have a reg cab and both doors rattle took it in and they gave this long drawn out answer and did not fix the problem, well there is a ford dealer every few miles here in houdton guess I'll find a new dealer to take it to...
Dave
My expy was doing the same thing. I took it to the dealer and after an hour they had fixed it. Apparently there was no grease on some bearing for the power window.
I have a regular cab too. My doors has a rattle to them also. Nothing major, I usually have the windows down and the radio up anyways.
What gets on my nerves though is the tire jack. I cant get mine to go into the little cubby hole right and it rattles too. Arg. I think Im going to go to the dealer lot and look how it is supposed to go into the hole on the brand new trucks.
i am looking at new reg cab, so is the big doors rattling themselves, or where they meet up with the small doors?....i hope it is an easy fix, such as more rubber molding etc
I have seen alot of post from you about getting a new regular cab truck.
get it. I love mine. All the problems people are having are just trival problems.
I would say one thing though. Stop and think weather you really want a regular cab or an extended cab. I personally dont need an extended cab because I am single and work alot out of my truck. No more than one rider at a time in my truck.. I simply dont have need for an bigger of a cabin size. Now if I had kids or somthing, or a wife or somting like that, I would have gotten the extended cab.
The only reason I am saying this is because its late in the year and dealers are giving the 2004 vehicles away to make room for the 2005 trucks. You could prolly get an extended cab for a heck steal..... anyways. I love the truck and havent had any problems with it.
khendrix..........thanks for the advise......i have really been debating which way to go on cab size...sure like the look of reg cab, doesnt have the long look, scab look better if they are 4x4 etc.....and yes, the sales are picking up, and selection is falling every day due to 2005's etc........i usually only have girlfriend as a passenger. well thanks, nice to hear u enjoy your truck..........wish me luck lol!!!
My drivers door rattles over rough pavement sometimes.....
feeling around, I isolated that it was actually the door lock
rattling around in the hole........
I'm sure a dealer can grease or grommet it, but it hasn't
angered me enough yet to have it fixed.....
If you think that might be it, just pop the locks and hold it
and see if it stops.....
