Door Rattles

I have a 03 F350, the drivers door rattles, I tried to move the striker plate but it seems to be unable to slide back and forth, how do you tighten the clasp so the door will not rattle. Thanks

There is a little slack in the striker, but you might also try the Excursion door seal mod. Basically you run a 3/8" or 1/4" hose through the stock the door seals, this will puff them out and hold the door tight. You might also want to look at the rubber boots that push the door off the frame. I believe there are two on the front doors, one near the latch and one near the bottom.

Try spraying some white lithium on/in the door latches. That worked for me.

You need a new latch assy. They are made of plastic and get wore out. Been there, done that.

If you have a Super Cab there is a spot weld that is known to break loose near the lower edge of the door and then the doors start to rattle. I would recommend checking that also.
