I agree mostly with the bit about owners making bad dogs-however a young man I know was selling pure bred pits to help pay his college bills, and every litter was nice friendly dogs, except for one. She was just a mean and viscious little thing from birth. She would bite anybody that got near.
Years ago, my grandfather was out squirrel hunting with a new pup and a single shot rifle-.22 shorts. The pup comes out from around a tree with an old sow hog chasing it- of course the pup goes to my grandfather, who fired at the pig and misses. He flips the rifle, grabs the barrel and hits the pig between the eyes with the butt of the gun. It kills the pig, and cracked the stock of the rifle. I still have the gun with the barrel bent, and the cracked stock with epoxy all over it.
When my brother was about 9 he was at my buddies house that had a doberman and a dalmation that just had a litter. I guess the dogs crazy mating involved biting and beating the crap out of each other. Well my borhter goes out to play with the dogs and pets all the wrong mating scars. Both Doberman and Dalmation went crazy. Thats about as bad as it gets. No hard feeling says my brother.
The worst I got is was actually a "missdirected" attack. My buddie has an incredably large pitbill that I was wrestling and playing with one day. Well the dog started playing a tad too hard and drew blood on my arm. That was nothing.... The dog soon realized what he did and started feeling really bad and crying. He felt so sorry that he was trying to lick the wound and my face and was just clobbering me. I was so beat up with scratches and bruises just from the poor dog feeling sorry for me. And how do you yell at a dog to stop when he feels bad enough as it is.
I have seen some mean butt dogs at the pet adoptions at Pet Smart. But anything with teeth can bite. I guess someday there will be laws stating we cannot own dogs. they will be outlawed. bumper stickers will read "You can ahve my shnauzer when you pry its leash from my cold dead fingers"
Speaking of Pet Smart we were at a dog adoptions one day with the humane society and we had about 8 dogs on leashes. A little boy about 3 comes up with his parents and he is holding a bag with about 10 goldfish. One of the dogs barks at the bag kid gets scared drops the bag and within a second it was a sushi feast for the mutts. It was sad but fuuny as heck at teh same time. The dogs were very very happy.
