I picked up the new 6.0 F350 end of June. I noticed that the truck seemed to idle rough, but dismissed it as needing some break in time. I thought, wow this is okay I got a newer truck and everything would be great! You guessed it! Now I have a 04 that the engine shuts down. I have gone from BAD to DEATH TRAP! The 1st time it happened was 7/24 (1090 miles) just left house, within 3 mile range, going downhill on a curve. I was able to get it pulled over and stopped and it started right back up. I took it to the local dealer on Monday and they looked it over and called Tuesday afternoon and said they couldn’t find anything wrong with it. I picked it back up Tuesday night. I left the house on Wednesday 7/28 and for the 2nd time it did it again at approximately the same location and distance. It was scarier as the shoulder was narrower and harder to pull over and stop. I used my cell phone and called the service adviser and told him it happened again and would be bringing right down. Once again the local dealer refused to service the truck!!! So now I had to drive the un-safe truck 50+ miles to the original dealer I got it from! It is at the original dealer now </O
Khorn, take a note pad and write every experience down. Document, Document, Document Times, date, people you talked to. Also make sure you receive every inovice, repair receipt from the service department. Do not leave with out them!! Give a good description on the problems you are encountering. I too have been having major problems with my 04 6.0 PSD 9,500 miles and my local dealer has been trying to keep them. I did not buy the truck from them...but the dealership I purchased the truck from is the same company that owns the local dealerhip.
I too took my truck into another local dealership and the service manager did not want to fix my truck because he has had 6 trucks in with the same problem and Ford does not have a fix. So much for FRIENDLY FORD!
Let me ask you something........did it start back up after you released your foot on the gas pedal or should I say diesel pedal and then try to accellerate again? If it did...then you had the same problem I had in April..
No. Just died and lost all power. Had to turn it off and then back on again. It started right up though.
back from the beach.
