The problems are fewer now then they were and the chance that your truck will be fine are very good, every once in awhile some one gets a problem truck and ford has a problem getting it fixed, do yourself a favor and see if your dealer has trained 6.0 diesel techs. and how many and that will be a big help as many dealers have one or maybe none and then it can be a problem if you do need any work done.

Talk about about dieing, my 04 died 26 miles after driving it off the dealers lot. It's died a total of 4 times on me in 10,000 miles with the dealer never able to find a problem. I only had the truck for one week in July due to it being at the dealership, rentals are getting old! Ran key on and key off checks found nothing until somone looked at the boost signal with the motor off and found it reading 10lbs boost? They replaced the IPC and the service manager drove it home only to have it die on him as he came to a stoplight. I stopped by yesterday to check in and the service manager mentioned taht Ford is considering swapping me out for an identical truck if I don't file the dispute settlement board paperwork. He brought it up which makes me think that they know someting is wrong with the truck.

I have a 2004 6.0, my truck now has about 5600 miles on it. Today while pulling my boat the engine keep shutting down on me! It did it once and it started back by itself! After a few more miles it started shutting down on me again, in less than 3 miles it shut down probably 15-20 times ! In the morning I'll call a wrecker to haul it in to the shop!

I bought the truck from Friendly Ford in Crosby, Texas! I found FTE a couple of years ago while searching for something, just never had anything to post about before, never had my 2001 7.3l in the shop.

Yep! I fell in love with this truck from day one! 19mpg in the city and about 22 mpg on the highway. This truck is much more quite than the 7.3. I'll take her to the doctor and get her all fixed up!
