Code reader port not working ????
What type of code reader are you using I hope its a OBD-II and not
OBD-I
The later cars trucks from 96 an up use OBD-II

bigred22769 are you also richam? Richam posted no information regarding his Explorer. In '95 Ford put a standard OBD-II type connector under the steering wheel however it didn't go active until the '96 model year. On a 2000 the OBD-II port is active. If yours also isn't working then there is a problem either with your scanner or your port. My bet would be on the scanner though.
