spark knock again
had it before, code p1401. changed out dpfe and it worked for 6 months. now spark knock again. now though I have no codes though. no vacuum leaks that I can find. new egr from before I had the problem. I applied vacuum to the green hose and it stumbled so the ports should be ok. anytime I go above 3000 rpm i get the pinging. I replaced the dpfe again and no difference.

Your mixing up old history trying to find the present issue.
Can't do that especially with no code.
I would say either clean the EVR or replace it.
It may be holding the EGR open a bit, when it should be closed.
The EVR is a 3 port device. It passes vacuum to the EGR and vents it to atmosphere when closing the EGR.
It has nothing to do with blocked ports behind the EGR..
This malfunction will be cause for spark knock.
There is no code for this malfunction.
Your hearing it is enough.

well, shoot, when I wrap her up to 5 grand it still does it................................................ ....................................Just kidding man. Bluegrass, thanks man I replaced the evr and no more spark knock. Oreillys even took back the dpfe I bought. Again thanks for the help, it is truly appreciated.
