You are right about the grin!!!!
I told my dad to take it for a spin, we both where laughing the whole time.
He has a 04 Harley 250 and I think he is sold on the Superchips for sure.
It really is amazing how much this programer changes the truck.
Stock my truck was not even close to lighting up the tires under these conditions.
The first first 3 or 4 of these things I tuned I was laughing so hard I had to stop and catch my breath.
Throwing the Excursion into a flat out 4 wheel drift and having enough power to recover with mostly throttle was another great moment.
The 60-70' burnout with the Harley truck was also a great deal of fun.
Ever brake torque a dualie? That's fun too =o)
Damn....my job is just too much fun sometimes =o)
Well.....it's Cinco de Mayo..........time for ice cold Corona and a Camacho cigar!
Vic Thanks again for all your input, How does the tow haul mode affect the shift points with the programs installed & are the shift points (rpm) programable with the programs installed, tow haul mode or otherwise, Keep up the GREAT WORK !!!!!!!!

I put some deep thought into this when tuning.
When you press tow/haul mode, the PCM reverts to an alternate set of shift tables.
In tow/haul mode, I only changed the shift points at and near WOT, and the downshifts are stock in tow haul mode. So basically, tow haul mode works the way they intended it to stock, but if you get on it and stay on it, it will shift as high as std mode with my tuning. All other upshifting/downshifting/engine braking works normally =o)
The tow/haul button can be used wiht all 3 programs, but keep in mind NOT to tow more than 6,000 LBS with performance and not more than 8,000 LBS with Economy file.
I am happy to read more about the towing aspect of the 6.0 with tuner.
Come on people step up and lets talk about this truck being a horse, and the interaction with a tuner….running heavy loads.

Yep..
these are TOW vehicles and that is as important (or more important, really) as having fun at stoplights with the Performance program.
Exactly and one of the issues that is constantly reoccurring here is MPG. Most of the hotrod folks do not really care about MPG, those that tow can realize some very big gains. Especially the off peak power this unit is showing. For small business, a minimal increase in MPG can result in big savings over a 30K year of pulling.

Absolutely.....
look at all these companies with fleets of Powerstrokes.....
Show them a consistent 2 MPG gain and they will leap for joy.
Even the all-out performance program will show considerable mileage gains if you aren't too playful with it =o)

Since this is readily available information (but not widely known), I will post this:
The transmission is technically a "6 speed"
Here are the ratios:
1st: 4.219:1
2nd: 2.531:1
3rd: 1.656:1
4th: 1.219:1
5th: 1:1
6th: 0.7:1
Reverse: 4.125:1
The shift schedule when accelerating is 1,2,3,5,6
4th gear is not used on upshifts.
There are also some situations that dictate a skip of other gears.
(A 1-3 shift occurrs often in low load, low throttle situations)
The DOWNshift schedule is 6,4,3,2,1 (it will skip gears other than 5 depending on the situation).
Notice 5th is a 1:1 ratio, but 4th is a 1.219:1 ratio....
4th Gear allows for engine braking on decel and this is why it is used for decel only instead of 5th gear.
So when you make a WOT run and you think your truck is shifting 1,2,3,4,5...it "is", but it's actually 1,2,3,5,6
Yeah, you could do it, but it wouldn't help ET's. It would simply create another shift....and a short one at that. 1......2......3......4..5......6
You COULD make it go 1,2,3,4,6 but I can't imagine why you would want to.
5th gear seems to be perfect as long as the pull through 3rd is long enough.
The really funny thing about all of this is........
Someday soon I'm going to walk up to (or drive next to) some guy who has his 1704 and is telling everyone how fast his truck is, and he is probably going to tell me how I don't understand how it works.
I can see it now:
