wow, a little remark about some lights can really stir things up. i have nothing at all against chevys, i actually thought about buying one before i bought my ford (I make the right choices don't I ) i admit that i have worked on my friends 2000 chevy silverado more than i have worked on mine. i like the chevy trucks but since i have never had any real problems with my fords i am going to stick with them. by the way i just went to the gas station and a tahoe pulled in with a light out, i chuckled and happily got in my ford.
I've noticed that ALMOST EVERY Chevy I see driving...one of its little running lights is out. DRL or not...its always got one out. Ford and Dodge don't have tht problem (though I've seen a few Dodges too that have a light out). It's amazing...
Yeah my post isn't to say Ford is the best, maybe they are, maybe they aren't, but they are the best to me, and so long as I am paying for and driving a vehicle, they have my business.
Now THAT's the point... No one can prove anything. But, we all have preferences based on experiences, style, memories, perceptions, advertizing, and apparently, a lot of ignorant preconceptions.
Vulnox just said it as strongly as it can be logically stated. They've been good to me, I like them, I'm going to continue to purchase them.
Now, how 'bout those Running Lites??
I've seen a ton of em. Yet, my g/f's last vehicle, never popped one. Her father's truck, never popped one. Weird, inexplicable. Nothing is more frustrating than electrical gremlins, to me anyway..
To tell you the truth, I rarely see a headlight out, but maybe thats because I live near a police station and the cops pull all the cars over before I see them...
You won't hear very many Chevy owners complain here about their crappy customer service, see, they post at the Chevy website. I don't think arguing for or against the 350 is worth even doing, they don't even put it in trucks anymore, do they? In any event, I liked the 351 better, it good decent mileage and had decent power and would, in my experience, last a heck of a lot longer than a 350 in a comparable CHevy truck without a rebuild. Chevrolet got out of the truck market, though, they don't make a heavy duty 4x4 anymore, at least not one with a solid front axle that could actually hold up to bigger tires and constant driver abuse.
anyone ever notice that on most chevy trucks, and suv's there is always one running lamp burnt out. i always notice this on different years and models. i figured chevy would have figured it out by now and fixed it.
Do you know why there you always notice one burned out? Because people hate the things and are waiting for the other one to burn out too. Then, you wont notice it at all.

They actually do make a good 4X4, but its not the Z71; which is supposed to be their "great" off road truck. Their good 4X4 is the 2500 HD. The 350 Chevy and the 351 W were both about equal in my opinion, they both had their good variations and their crappy variations.
I've had smaller displacements on FORD that performed better the a larger displacement on Chevy.
Transmission and rear end ratio. Chevy and Ford are always going to be close on their engines. Neither one can afford to let the other get away from them on power. If one gets behind, they will catch and pass the other one in just a few years. All except Ford Mustang. It always trailed the Z28 in latter years of production.
they both have their pros and cons, and i belive alot of people here believe as i do, that FoMoCo makes quality trucks that are dependable, long lasting, strong, and never back down. this is a ford site people, please take your pro-chevy stuff elsewhere. no offense, but do you expect a warm welcome for chevys at ford site? itll only rouse large dragging arguments about whos right or wrong. that gets us nowhere and thats not what this site is all about. if yall chevy men cant take a little joking and poking fun then u dont need to be here, cause thats whats gonna happen. this is a ford site, what do you expect? if you want to make fun of fords, then go to some chevy forum or something. but dont bring it here please. this was merely about runnin lights on chevy trucks, lets keep it that way shall we? i jes thought id put in my 2 cents, thx

No, they do not make a good work truck for extreme conditions, they don't even attempt to make one. Even their so-called HD models have IFS, and to me, that's just unacceptable in a 4x4 heavy duty truck. The job/rescue site is not always on pavement, and you throw 44 inch tires on the Chevy and try to tow 10k worth of crap with the loaded down with a bunch of crap, then you're going to break an axle. To me, as well as a lot of other consumers, that means that the HD Chevrolet isn't even in the competition.
