Who uses the Mozilla browser?
Well, after reading all this stuff about Firefox and Mozilla, I still can't make up my mind if I want to try it or not. I have numerous programs loaded that protect the heck out of me on IE, so that's not a huge issue. Speed of downloading isn't an issue...if it was, I'd get cable or DSL. At least so far. I do know that my SpywareBlaster or SpywareGuard (one or the other) is set up to scan Firefox. So ... spyware must be able to get into it also. Just thought I'd mention that. Otherwise, I think I'll stick with IE for the time being. I do have an older computer I could load it on and check it out ... but that would be too much like work right now. I'll monitor this thread a while to see how y'all like Firefox.

For email use Mozilla or Eudora. Mozilla is free and Eudora has a sponsored mode with small ads that is free. Eudora has some bugs and has a lot of features disabled. Eudora also will not show complete headers and other information.
So if you want email AND a great browser use Mozilla.
ANY email program can download a file with a virus or worm as an attachement. The AV programs just tell us that file is corrupt and warn us not to open it or in some cases deny access to the file. It is always wise not to open files from people you don't know and even then only if they have been scanned.

Iv'e used Opera since ver 5.
While my dialup connects, I open Opera wait for IE to open then KILL it and surf with Opera. I do find it's faster at loading pages than IE. One feature I like is, on the status bar, it will clock the down load speed on the loading web page. I think it's cool.
Version 7.52 is out now for those of you who have not upgraded yet.

Glad you liked it, Mike. My mom works online, she's been using IncrediMail for about a year with no major problems, she sends and recieves 25-30 or more emails a day through that program. She told me about it, I've been using it for about 3 months. If you get it, send an email to them and tell them about the cooking dinner thing, maybe they can write that into the next version! -TD

I’ve been an IE user since the very beginning….never really considered using anything else. Oh, I did try Netscape for a while but didn’t really see any benefit so I went back to IE. After reading this thread, and seeing all the enthusiastic input about Mozilla, I thought I’d give it a try. Been using it for a couple days now and I’m genuinely impressed. I like the tabbed browsing, the no pop-ups feature, but mostly how it loads significantly quicker than IE. It’s really noticeable. And so far, no browser lock-ups…Score another one for Mozilla!

I just found a good spelling checker add in for Mozilla, thanks to Gunnar at: http://mozilla.gunnars.net/
This is a link to the spelling checker program, don't click on it until you are ready to install the program.
http://cgi29.plala.or.jp/mozzarel/ad...spellcheck.xpi
When you click on this link from Mozilla It will ask you whether you want it to be added to some file that Firefox uses so it does not have to be reinstalled with updates. If you click cancel at that point it installs into the Mozilla directory. It is a fast install and does not ask for any other confirmations, it just does it. Make sure you have software installation enabled in the: Edit>preferences>advanced>software installation section of Mozilla. This program must also work for Firefox but I have not tested it.
This spelling checker works and looks just like that other program that I listed b4 as a spelling checker for Firefox: http://www.exchangecode.com/spellbound/
Make sure you install that security patch for Mozilla and Firefox:
http://www.mozilla.org/security/shell.html Windows users only, it is a windows bug.
Turn OFF that software installation switch when you are done installing your spelling checker or security patch.
Thanks for the spelling checker information goes to Gunnar at: http://mozilla.gunnars.net/ It is a great site for Mozilla information. Check out that 98/2000/Xp Lite program if you want more speed out of your system and to free up system resources.
