Who Uses Firefox?

I know some of you use Firefox as your browser - how do you like it? Is it easy to use? Does it interfere with IE or Netscape?
I currently have Windows XP with IE as my main browser and Netscape as a secondary browser. Does Firefox make pages look strange? I know some pages look different in Netscape than they do in IE.

The main reason I am considering Firefox is because of the popups...does Firefox really get rid of popups as they advertise?

Anyone who uses this new browser, I want to talk with you about it!

Please email me and let's talk!

Firefox is much better than either IE or NS, I have used all 3 and now stand by firefox. The only popups I get are the ones that are embedded in the page with code that FF doesn't recognize. It's faster than IE. THe only difference is the scroll bars don't change colors with webpages. My advice is download it and try it.

I there was another post with a lot \of info about this...., but..... I have FireFox,and yeah, it blocks 99% of pop ups, one or two a month will get through ( and i surf a lot). Nope, no changes, except it moves a little faster loading pages. Every once in a while I'll come upon a page that won't load correctly, I'll just start IE back up.
Once you start using it, you'll wonder how you could have surfed with all those damn popups

Firefox here and I have the same problem of pop-ups with just one site I visit that I didn't get before.
I don't use IE unless I absolutely have too for a site. So far....all the sites I visit work with FF.

Firefox is pretty sweet. BTW, if you're still running 1.0.0, ya'll better upgrade to 1.0.1 :P
There's a serious exploit that has been found in 1.0.0

I just downloaded firefox 1.0.1 yesterday in fact. I like it so far. It is also definately faster with dialup. There are some pages I would go to where it would stop loading half way through the page(especially a long page with lots of pictures) but with firefox, those same pages have loaded fully and faster than they would have with IE. I like the customization that comes with Firefox. I set up all my toolbars so that they resembled my IE toolbars since that is what I was used to. By doing that there was a seamless transition between browsers. There are a few times when pages don't load 100% like they should, but overall I like it.

Firefox all the way. It puts MS IE to shame. It's great not having any pop-ups, spyware problems, etc. Plus, it sure seems to be faster.

I have been running Firefox for a few months now, and the popups and spyware has been greatly reduced. It can be tweaked to run faster as well, I need to take a few minutes and do that, we had to start over and wipe it off the hard drive to get rid of the damn trojan... my wife has to switch to IE to run her pogo games because they REQUIRE pop ups, well, it got us a nice ol' trojan. My separate computer has yet to get anything like that, but I NEVER run IE here.

Irony

It's ironic that you put a firefox post. I just loaded firefox to my school computer by way of flash drive. haha... I don't know if they saw that one coming. Anyway, I hope I don't get in trouble. It seems to be working very well at home too. Very smooth and predictable.

I love it, I hate the fact that some sites don't work with firefox, but oh well, I've used it for the past few months after being referred by some people on this site, lol, I love it though

Ok after a resounding "yes" from the Firefox users, I have just downloaded 1.1 and will give it a try. It does look a bit different than IE but not so different that I will get lost. As far as speed goes, we'll see. I run a cable modem so things move pretty fast anyway. However what I will be looking at is the pop-up thing. I hate those and if everything works the same as IE but without the annoying pop-ups, then Firefox will be a success!

Time will tell...

Some figures on browser use:

================================
Surfers warm to Firefox

Microsoft's dominant Internet Explorer is gradually losing ground to open-source newcomer Firefox.
Usage (percent)
Browser Dec. 3 Jan. 14 Feb. 18
Internet
Explorer 91.8 ___ 90.3 ___ 89.9

Firefox 4.1 ___ 5.0 ___ 5.7

Netscape/
Mozilla* 2.8 ___ 2.6 ___ 2.5

Others** 1.3 ___ 2.1 ___ 1.9

* Excluding Firefox
** Including Safari (boosted figure for January after security update) and Opera
Source: WebSideStory
===============================

It looks like the open source Firefox/Netscape/Mozilla browsers which are all basically similar code together are approaching that magical 10% figure. These figures seem to be for the US. Browser use varies widely around the world.

I have been using firefox for a few months now and have not had one pop up. The only problem I have is every few days when I click the icon to acess the internet a profile window pops up. I have to delete it to get on the internet. When I do this it deletes all my websites I've been to and changes my homepage. Can anyone help me with this problem, I'm not to computer knowledgeable? Other than that it's been great. Thanks for any help, Chad
