Using Mozilla right now. Overall I really like it. No pop-ups, tabbed browsing(the best feature IMHO), better stability than IE, somewhat more secure than IE because Active X is turned off, quick launch option. Cons: Somewhat "difficult" to set up. You have to download Java, and some other stuff, but you can do that through Mozillas Extension Room. Also, some pages don't display correctly. That's the fault of the page designer because they use IE standards and not W3C standards.

Go to the Mozilla forums and read a couple of threads.

I use it all the time also (including now). I couldn't agree more about tabbed browsing. I also use Firefox on one machine. It's a nice light weight version of Mozilla.

I use it at home, but here at work I'm stuck with IE. Gotta give a big 'me too' on the tabbed browsing, I usually have three or four webpages up at once (Google mail, FTE, Slashdot.org, etc) and having just one window open with Mozilla vs. three windows with IE. Plus the lack of pop-ups, and the increased security makes it so much better. I'd like to try Firefox sometime, but we're still on dailup at home and it would take five hours to download. :-P

Later!

Rory

I haven't tried it 'cause I like Netscape OK, but my mom works online, and the Co. she works for has software that's setup for IE, and is incompatible with Netscape. She recently tried Mozilla and Opera, but says she didn't have Opera set up right although she liked it better than Mozilla, which she's trying now. Neither one will work with her Co. software though, so she's still stuck with IE, for now. She just ran AdAware and it found 9 bugs that were all because of IE. Six were registry keys,3 from IE and 3 from Xupiter, and three were listed as IE explorer possible browser hijack attempts. AdAware quarantined them all. I never use IE, if I can avoid it. -TD

I have used it for about 6 months and that is what I am using as we speak.
Ditto, All the other posts!!
I would delete IE if were not for the VPN to work that uses " Microtrash" IE and apps.
My only problem now is with a new wireless keyboard and mouse. Mozilla does not function with all of its options. But in defense of Mozilla I have put very little effort in its set-up.

NO POP-UP's is a great thing and I like that aspect the most!

Do all you can to stop and remove xupter, It is a very nasty hijacker that will cause network problems by hijacking over networks and will download sex sites and viruses to any computer. I know of one case of it downloading a dialer that ran a phone bill to over 2000 dollars in one night. I went out on a network and filled ever hard drive with sex sites, pics, and other junk in about 1 hour and no drive had more that 5 Mb free.

I use Mozilla as my regular browser for this forum and everything else. Some of the little things about it help me do my admin job here easier. I have Opera and IE to use if I find a page that will not display correctly. Altho Mozilla is supposedly set up to the web stds the Webmaster has found several things that do not comply that cause problems for him in trying to operate this site. He uses Opera as his regular browser and tries to optimize the site for Opera and IE, Mozilla and Netscape kind of get the short end of the stick because the user base is so small. Several things do not work for me in Mozilla here. The page frame does not display correctly and I have to scroll over to get to the links at the right of the page about 50% of the time in a random fashion. Some of the other pop-up type items like the ratings etc do not work either. The code for the floating sig works tho.

I use the tabs extensively here and love it. I understand that IE is supposed to be getting tabbed browsing. MS steals any good idea they can find.

I use Safari on the Mac and Mozilla on the IBM. No popups and tabbed browsing make me a happy camper.

I'm not sure that tabbed browsing applies to Firefox, but in Mozilla, if you right click on a link it gives you the option to open in a new window or a new tab. Right now, I have 3 tabs open- FTE Main Forum Page, FTE Gen. Conv Page, and the Mozilla thread. When I'm done replying to this thread, I'll right click again on this tab and close it. I'll be back in the Gen. Conv page and can continue to scan the topics. Really neat feature. I uploaded a screen shot to my gallery so you can get a visual about what tabbed browsing looks like.
