I went out this afternoon and bought my 6" EDGE lift with the intention of installing it myself. I would however, like to ask you folks how difficult installing this kit will be or if it is better left to a professional. Additionally, are there any special tools required, and does anybody have any tips on making the install go smoothly.
Have a buddy help, make sure you have a pitman arm puller that fits, make sure you have HEAVY duty tall jack stands, 2 floor jacks come in handy, torches may help if you run into stubborn nuts and bolts.
It is a pretty straight forward job, unbolt old parts, install new parts.
If you have wrenched on your trucks in the past you should be alright.
Mine took me about 4 hours, I had every tool and then some...including a lift.
Take your time and enjoy...Read all the info and don't forget to tighten and retighten the U bolts....should take you most of the day if its your first time and you are careful..
