doesn't help you obviously, but I just ended up putting mine on the dash in the center. didn't drill any holes either, used some good 3M adhesive tape to the bracket, and the power/antenna wires tucked away nicely hidden between the windshield/dash gap, running sideward and around the door area. The unit doesn't block my visibility at all, and i don't see any wires.
I put a CB radio in the headliner of my old truck. the trick was to go to Lowes or Home Depot or someplace like that , myself i went to Lowes and bought a short peice of 1/8" by 2 or 3 inch pine board and shoved it up through the headliner from the front windshield. the i screwed the bracket up to it. when i went to run my wires i just ran the power wires across the headliner on the left side and the antenna wire across the right side. The only really tricky part i had doin it was anchoring it into the peice of wood.Hopefully that helps
well i was putting it in a 4dr blazer and didnt feel like screwing around with the whole thing so i predrilled the holes where i wanted to mount it then i put the piece of wood in and held the one side in place with a pick and the other side i screwed the bracket in. it ended up workin for me and it saved me the time of screwin around with the headliner
