WOW only youngster miles! I have an 85 250 4x4 with 520,000 miles.Miles are miles, did the truck belong to a kid(hard miles)?
Or a responsible adult(well cared fore miles)?

True Blue Scott (Fords4life)
yes it is the orig. powerplant,I have gone threw 3 trany rebuilds & 7-8 injector pumps & 4 sets of injectors, plenty of starters.
Ive had it sence high school threw collage & 3 kids.I guess I got lucky with its long term life, I do service my baby every 3000-3500 miles.(lots of oil) Ive also rebuilt the oilpan, it now holds right around 4 1/2 gallons of "Delo 400"15w-40.Also every other oil change I dump In 2 cans of "engine restore".Thats the only thing special I do to her.
Good luck with your FORD may it live long & healthy!
Scott, I have a brand new one then it only has 149000 on it it is a terrific engine runs super the only problem I've had is every winter I have to replace at least two glow plugs I think they go bad during the year I just don't notice till it gets cold. John (fatforty)

One thing I learned about my glow plugs is NEVER change just 1 or 2 or 3, change them all at the same time, I know its kind of pricy at $8-$10 a plug but this insures that all the plugs have the same amount of cycles on them, also change them with dealer plugs(thay seem to last longer than aftermarket).
The only down side I have had with 1/2 million miles is it burns its fare share of oil,(around 2qts. every 1500-2000 miles) Ya I could get after it with a rebuild. butt why mess with a good thing.
good luck with your FORD!
HAPPY HOLLIDAYS..
stay TRUE BLUE.
