What manifold is this?

I have a stock type manifold i put on my 390...
I forgot the casting number... but anyways, I got another one the other day.

It looks a little taller than my other one
and it doesnt have the EGR valve hole on the carbeurator flange
and the ports look a bit bigger on it.
The casting number on it is a C5AE somin or other
Its dark at the moment, but it was bugging me to death so I'll post it
Any ideas on what it could be?

Well, with a part number like C5AE or something like that we can probably rule out SBC or BBC.

C5AES425C

If your looking at the casting number (from the front of the manifold)
above the casting number near the "venturies" of the manifold
upside down it says 509:

and on the rear of the manifold it shows the firing order

All Ford intakes will have either 9424 or 9425 as the base number. I don't see that particular number in any of my books, so hopefully someone will have better reference books than I do!!

It's a sloppy 9 that looks like an S.

That manifold was used on the 65-66 352/390. BTW it has the early style tall ports.

So is it anything special or hard 2 find?
And was it used in cars/trucks/both?

Hard to find, sometimes.

Special, no.

Only used on cars, trucks didn't have a 4bbl. back then.

I think I have a pic in one of the galleries, give me a sec...

BTW that has the large T-stat hole.

I'd say $20 but you never know about people, somebody might be looking for that one.

Sorry about the bright pic, the gammas are all wrong now that I'm using a calibrated monitor.

Cool, was just wondering
I had to pay 35 for the one on my truck from a junk yard
but I paid 12 bucks for this one at a scrap yard
I'll hold on to it, unless someone wants it, and they could have it

Sometimes, collectors/restorers need the absolutely correct part for a vehicle and will pay big... even to the point of having the correct casting date (month AND year).

Other days, it's worth the current cast-iron scrap price

Hey Andy, I didn't want you to think I was poo-pooing your intake. Actually I like the C5 design, it has broader shoulders and more volume along with taller runners compared to the much overated "S" intakes. Only problem is it only mates with the early tall port heads. If the S's were so great, how come back in high school we would dump those suckers for anything better, even a Streetmaster would outrun it.

I have c8ae-r's I think on the truck
It should match up to them, as the manifold on it now has smaller ports than the new one, right?
