Hey guys been a wile finaly got my bronco running it was the damn fuel pressure regulator :P but its running cherry now and its time to fix her up nice nice now that the weather is getting warm. My plan was do do the exhaust somewere down the road but since my after market stock version fell off (like it does every 2 years) i dicided to do it now. i dont have a pipe bender and even if i dod id prob screw up the whole project so i was wondering if anyone had a good site for duel exhausts for my 1990 XLT 5.8
i was kinda hoping it would be made for just a ford bronco universal jobs are knuckle busters. no headers though there just a pain in the ***, ill take the power over the warping and bolts backing out and all the other head aches of headers.
You cant get a true dual exhaust unless ur looking to spend alot of money i would just do what i did get a powerpacked exhaust (basicly is a glasspack with a y-pipe) that splits into dual and have someone put it on who knows how to weld just go from your catilitic converter back into the power pack and split into dual out.
do a search this topic has been killed on this forum. A single 3" exhaust will perform better then duals unless you are pushing some serious hp. i got my exhaust done for under $300. that was new y, 3" out behind rear tire with a 50series flowmaster
You do have less back pressure with true duals, which robs you of low end torque since the pipes flow too much. Good for sports cars, not good for trucks.
Yea u may have paid less but i think ur wrong there is less backpressure with a dual exhaust so thats y i got also they get louder
with a powerpack, you still only have 1 muffler (where your restriction is) so dualing it out after the cats and muffler is not going to give you any gain over what a single 3" pipe would... the duals are only for looks
i know how the it works just was wondering about the best way to get the set up if they sold i kit for just the bronco of that year i would do it but if not i am going to have it made. im setting up the duel not sure how big yet but your all talking about back pressuse and what not im all set with that im changing the intake setup in it as well. not going over board yest cuase im not touching the motor thats in it but when i swap it out at least ill be one small step ahead
