Strange AOD Leak??
Wanted to see if any of you had run into this problem with your Broncos.... We have an '86 302 Bronco with the AOD transmission. This transmission likes to leak only after you park it. My husband replaced the torque converter seal and left the front pump seal alone, because it was not leaking. We are still having the same problem though, but only when you park it. If any of you have any suggestions, we'd appreciate it

I never knew this but, When I was getting ready to put in my new motor in I pulled the torque convertor off to replace the front seal, I started dumping the old A.T.F out of the convertor and noticed the convertor had a drain plug, I NEVER KNEW THAT! I knew the E4OD did, but not the A.O.D's. So I would take the lower dust plate/inspection cover off and crank the motor around until the plug shows itself, you can see the plug on the front of the convertor, poking out of a hole on the flywheel, and see if that is where your leak is. Let us know what ya find. By the way, mine is an "87".

Thanks Al, we took a look at that, but unfortunately, that's not it either. We will just have to keep trying. My husband was trying to get all of the leaks out of it before fully breaking in the rebuilt 302 he just did. I keep trying to tell him that Fords always mark their territory! LOL
