Is there any books, videos available so that a person (me) can learn how to read blue prints. I really dont think that it is that difficult but I would like a better grasp of the concept
Thanks jon
What I had to get for my college blueprint reading class was (Building Trades Printreading by Thomas E Proctor). Prints are not hard to read. The only major thing that is needed to know is what the symbols and lines are and how they are applied to the print. That was a book I used but I am sure there are similar ones you can find that are cheaper and just as good. One tip is that architect's forget to put things in or can be incorrect about information. Hope this helps.
Go to the local community college and take the class. Their are several books out that you could read up on. But I would suggest the class it is invaluble.
The only reson I ask this questions is because I was wondering how much differnt it is from drafting . I took a drafting corse in high school and to me it was pretty simple .
The couse consisted of transferring three and sometimes foursided objects from to a drafting board and to do this you need to know how to "read" the picture. So my new question is how differnt is blue print reading from drafting...besides the spelling
