Just curious. I try to stick to one book at a time, its really easy to get started on a bunch of random books. The reason im asking is cause ive been reading a boring book recently. Im about half way through it at the moment. Ive got a whole list of books lined up for me to read but havent finished the current one yet. You think i should start reading another book at the same time of reading the current book? I dont want to force myself to read this book too fast cause i want to retain everything, which is hard for me, my mind tends to wander very quickly.
I read several at a time, both for school and pleasure. Right now I have a couple Stephen King-er's going,,, Cell, The Wolves of the Calla, and Blackhouse. As far as texts for college, The Fundementals of Hydrolics, Hydrostaics and Dynamics, and Circuit Analysis. The novels help break up the dryness of the texts!! Ha! Ha!
How has time for books when there is so much to read on FTE.
For me one book at a time. That is why I have to take one college course at a time, too much info overload, ouch!
Is it just me, or does that book kinda remind you of "The Stand"???

When I was younger I would check several books out of the library at one time and read them all before the due date, and then check out several more. Now I'm like redford.

Hey! I knew I liked you for some reason!! Ha! Ha! Yes, Cell smacks of The Stand, but I'll finish it anyways. And thanks for not elaborating on the ending of The Dark Tower series!!! I love Stephen King!! He's the Man!!!
Just one at a time for me, if I try to read more than one at once they morph together in my mind an I have no idea whats going on in any of them. I have a pretty long list of books I have to read and lots of time so I can read at my own pace.
I used to read 2 or 3 "series" books together -- just to keep it a little spicier
Donald Hamilton ( Matt Helm), Richard Prather ( Shell Scott), MIckey Spillane, etc.
Since these guys used similar stories and similar characters in each book, I'd read a couple together -- then I'd have to remember if this character type was already killed or whatever in each one. Just made it a little more fun.
Now I usually just read one at a time, but I keep an audio book going as well.
I have some wireless headphones, and a story is better than music when I'm doing some boring chores.
Thanks, you just reminded me that I need to finish At Dawn We Slept.
While "At Dawn We Slept" by Gordon W. Prang was the benchmark of all the previous Pearl Harbor Attack books, it's somewhat dated today.
Suggestions: Advance Force-Pearl Harbor / And I Was There / Betrayal at Pearl Harbor / Infamy / East Wind Rain / Admiral Kimmels Story / Day of Deceit / Air Raid-Pearl Harbor / Target - Pearl Harbor
I usually have two or three books going at the same time. Current reads: FDR; Ghost Ship-USS Houston; Theodore Rex.
