Haven't even seen it on the shelves yet, even though Valvoline said it would be in my area around Feb/March. There is an earlier thread. Some guy in California I think saw it at Kragens (must be a parts store they have?) way back in January.

I see there now IS a page on Synthetic Maxlife at Valvoline.com. I think they put it up yesterday.

Wasn't aware the MSDS sheets were pulled. Someone at the bobistheoilguy site got Valvoline to fax them the synthetic Maxlife tech data sheet and posted it at the oil guy site. If you search the site, probably "Car and Truck Gas Engine Oil" forum, you will get a couple threads on Synth Maxlife. One has the tech sheet. I still can't find the synthetic in the stores either.

I work at Wal-Mart's auto dept. and we haven't put it on the shelves yet. I just figured that it would be out somewhere, maybe Valvoline doesn't want it out on shelves until a certain date. It's like $4.42 a quart.

Good question. I used to run Durablend for several years and switched to Maxlife last fall. I am only going to the Durablend because I want to run a 15w40 this summer, though my recent UOA showed that maybe I don't need to since the 10w40 Maxlife is holding up very well at 3000 miles. My motorhome and wife's Aerostar are still running Maxlife (10w30) full time.

Well, yesterday at my local AutoZone I saw the full synthetic Valvoline Maxlife on the shelf for the astounding price of $4.98 a quart!

Looks like I won't be switching any time soon.

Interestingly, the store had it stocked right next to the Mobil1 which was actually cheaper ($4.78).

Too bad about the price, but I bet Maxlife is nicely thicker than the M1.
