292 trans adapter

I have a 59 292 with a 4 speed looking for any help with an adapter to put an s10 5 speed on the 292.

ford-y-block.com You can't use a adapter on a truck bellhousing, because the truck bellhousing is deeper and the input shaft won't be long enough I'm told. John mummert uses a 3spd truck bellhousing, welds a bung for the new bolt hole and drills it for the 5spd.
