78 J engine code?
F25JRAG AXLE 22

My Chilton book does not give a J for engine code or 22 for a 78 axle. If anyone could help I would appreciate it.

J is a 460 4bbl, not sure on the axle code.

Does 3.07 gearing seem to be strange for a camper special?

Ok, the reason I asked was it looks like my truck may have been pieced together and I'm just trying to see what on it came stock and what has been replaced.

get a build sheet from Ford, it'll tell you what options your truck was ordered with.
