I've got an '80 F250 4x4 and am getting ready to put different wheels on. Does the left rear wheel have left handed threads or not? or the right rear for that matter? I've been told yes and no. Obviously the easiest way to tell would be to find out by taking the wheel off, I know, but I travel at work and haven't had any time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Yes, I'm talking about the lug nuts, sorry. Oldhalftons, both of my uncles' '84 F250 and '80 F250 both had left handed threads. Everyone said only Mopar had them but that wasn't the case. I guess the only way to tell is to take it off. I appreciate the info though.
My 84 f250 has the left handed threads on the right side of the rear axle its a dana 70 with 3.54 gears i got the crome lug nuts that are on it off the same that was a 4x4 im sure yours is left handed to
I have also heard that 250's can have left handed lug nuts. The guy I bought some chrome rims from (for a long lost '68 250 I had to sell...but don't get me started) said an "L" should be stamped on the end of the stud if its left handed. Mine didn't have left handed threads so I don't know if its true.

In all my years of playing with these trucks from 80- 94 150 thru 350 I have never come across any leftys. It does sound like one of Ford's Bright ideas to mix and match them. About as smart as the Fisteva idea.
