Originally posted by Scurv Well finally!!! Not sure if that's retail or dealer cost?? I don't do much towing (heavy atleast) and was wondering if the 8 ply 285 would be OK for my needs??? My other concern that the guy mentioned that it would throw off my ABS...any inputs??? I have 285's on my F-150 and it hasn't seemed to affect the brakes at all??
If you don't do any heavy towing, and want to cool looks of the biger tire, then I say go for it!!.

I called my dealer and he told me my 2000 X limited was not on the list. . I have the Steeltex R4s LT265/75/R16. Was I given wrong info from him, and if so who else should I speak to to find out.
Thanks in advance for your help.
hmmmm..the RS4's should be OK....are they D or E rated?? The tire in question is specifically the A/T 265/75/16 D and one of the tire slated to replce it is the RS E rated tire

So I will opt for the E rated 265's. I did find a Firestone dealer here in SW Ohio willing to upgrade.... He was the third dealer I contacted. The first two said no to upgrades. I will be putting the Revo's on tomorrow for $30.00 per tire out of pocket.
Worth every penny to get what I want, not what they want to give me.

Hello LabCab,
Would you give me the information on the dealer that did this upgrade for you. I have not found any dealers in Northeast Ohio willing to upgrade. I live in the snowbelt and frequently travel to N.Y. to go skiing. I was not happy with the winter traction of the Steeltex but, I am willing to drive and pay for the Revos. Thanks.
It was at the Firestone Company owned store on Fields Ertal Rd just off I71 in Mason, OH (NE side of Cinci). I talked to Brian the manager and he was very helpful. Their phone # is 513-677-5200. So far I love the tires both on the freeway and off road.
Good luck.
Pat
Would anyone happen to know of any firestone shop here in Houston,TX or around here that would be willing to let me upgrade to a bigger set of tiresby paying a price difference?
Originally posted by MN_Wild I got my Revos put on last night. 265/75/16 load range E. I had to pay 31 bucks a tire though.
Thanks to MN_Wild, I just got back from the same Firestone dealer with 5 new Revos. (I like to do a 5 tire rotation so I'll start looking for another rim to replace the steel one on the spare. )
Can't tell any difference so far but the tires really look excellent -- I think the wet road performance will blow the Steeltex performance away.
Anyway, thanks again to MN_Wild for blazing the trail!

Nope, not bad at all! I was extremely happy with Firestone and the service I received at my local Firestone/Bridgestone dealer. mngunner, Glad they got ya all fixed up!
$199 for Revo's! You can have them for $145 in 285 size from Tire Rack. Doesn't include shipping or mounting, but $199 is HIGH.
FYI for all. The Revo's are great tires, but six months into a set - not on an Excursion - I can share one negative. These tires pick up stones and gravel really bad. I would not run these tires if you spend much time on gravel roads.
