Standard 4-Speed Converted to Automatic
Hey i need help!!! Im looking at a 1965 Ford F-260 4x4 w/ a 352FE motor 4-speed on the floor. My question is how much would it cost to get some power steering in it, as well as how much a 4-speed standard on the floor to an automatic would cost approximately. I wouldnt want anything fancy just the simple stuff. Thanks a bunch!!!!

The power steering would be hard I believe. Ford used a linkage assist system with a power cylinder and control valve until sometime in the mid to late 70's. It is not an easy system to transplant. You might be able to find a later power gearbox that will fit, but would need to check compatibilty with your linkage. The auto swap should be easier if you can find a 4x C6 auto. Do you have the divorced transfer case?
