converting automatic to manual?
I have a 99 f150 supercab 5.4L v8 automatic tranny (of course) I was wondering if it would be possible to not only convert it to a standard transmission but to convert it to a 6 speed transmition? I want to put a low gear set in probably a 4.11 but I also dont want to lose any mileage on the freeway and i like the standard transmission much better. I'm sure this would probably cost a lot of money but before I even start to think about that I would just like to know if it is possible.

If it was a transmission Ford offered in that chassis/body, it should be fairly easy to track down the parts and bolt them in. Look thru the pics in my signature link and look at what I've made work. At least on yours, the parts are still available new - I've had to use junkyard parts from other vehicles!
