as i understand it and x pipe would be better due to the lack of turbulance, its a smoother flow that the H pipe, the person doing your exhaust is probly just doing an H pipe because its easier, theres no bends to it, expeccialy if he does it where the two pipes have to come togather to go by the transmission, an x pipe may end up costing you more, just beause its more work to make or buy,

Made an appointment for the install, will have it done on friday. I asked the guy to put in an X pipe, he said he would, no problem. And now the wait.
crowz: You should be really happy with the x pipe...ive got a 90 f-150 with a 5.0, and mine sounds much better with it...I have the same setup as you, except for the headers, and i have 2 1/2 in pipe and origional FM 40's....let us know how it sounds man!

All that the rear O2 sensor in a OBDII controlled truck does is just tell the computer that the converter didn't die. (or hasn't yet). I wonder if you can get a MIL fooler and wire it into the wiring of the rear sensor after you pull the cat?? I've seen this trick for Mustangs and the like.
HP is awesome for being pretty much stock.....the rear end is a bit more heafty, so it feels like the front end wants to come off the ground Its great, i love the power and the sound But I dont think between 2 1/4 and 2 1/2 would make much of a diff anyways.... JMO
how much dose something like that run you, my biddys was 550 with out headers, 2 new cats, and two flowmaster 40's. sounded expensive to me but how are you gonna make out?
My set of DYNOMAX headers were $230.00 + $95.00 shipping from JEG's, $125.00 to install them, $425.00 for 2 FM's & pipes bent, O2 sensor, installed. This might sound expensive to some of you, but here on Maui, the closest competitor quoted me $1000.00 to do the same job, minus cost & shipping of headers.
seems like alot of money to ship headers, i ordered so far 3 exhausts from summit, one for my truck one for my moms tahoe, and one for a freinds, dodge, and they were 15 to ship, and they weighed alot more than a set of headers, boy seems like jegs is pretty expensive,
but that seems actually pretty cheap, expecialy for all the pipe bending
