i have a 95 F-150 and it only has one o2 sensor on it. so maybe its just my pickup, but i thought it was 92-95's are ok. i could put true duals on it, but 1)my exhaust shop wouldnt do it 2)i dont have a pipe bender and 3)cat-back that i will be having done hopefully in a month is a lot cheaper.
why would a muffler shop turn down a customer? theres a guy local that just did my friends for 550 true duals, but i never noticed the diffrence untill now between the summit mufflers and a flowmaster, i thought the were simmilar, but mine sounds more like a glasspack, oh well still rumbles the car behind you, thats all that is important. expecially if its a street racer.

they turned me down because i wanted the cats cut off. they didnt want to get involved in that sort of stuff. made me wonder if maybe they got caught doing it or something. and man i hope that isnt $550...my friend had his done for $153 for true duals. well total after mufflers and tips it was about $280 or so. if they charged him $550, he got ripped off IMO.
$550? woooah....i got mine done for like 160...w/ turndowns...although i already had one muffler, didnt put on headers too... depends on what they did for 550....
manifolds back, new hi flow cats, flowmasters all custom bent 2.5 inch pipe. welded. its a pretty good price for around here to have a custom echaust made to fit your truck the way you want it, seeing how midas and minakee, are just to damn dumb to do it.
Originally posted by ATC_250SX well i can see that then if you go to small and try to force the exhaust out of it, but what size are you running after the cats?
I ran 2.5 all the way from the tips of the exhaust manifolds out the side. I do have a V6 thought which means only 3 cylinders per pipe. Anybody who knows anything about exhaust tuning will tell you that gives you an odd pulse order out the pipe. I think I HAVE lost low end becuse she;s a real dog off the line! I have thought about putting in an "H" pipe to balance the pulses. What do you guys think?
what is the difference or benefit of an "X" configuratation as opssoed to an "H" setup? the "X" would have 2 conections on each pipe, does this help the balancing more?

what exactly does an H or X pipe do besides sort of the exhaust gases? does it make it sound better? ive heard it makes it a little bit quieter...

while increasing scavegning, will it make it sound better? i guess i should say...more of a rumble?...im thinking of fabing one up myself...is there any particular place i should place it?
