Depends on where the sensor is, i do belive there on the y pipe of the truck right? if there before the cat, and you take it out the truck will knever notice that the cat is gone. if thats what you are reffering to.
ATC 250SX, You're right, the sensor is on the "Y" pipe. Where would be a good place for it now, on the right side exhaust pipe or on the cross-over pipe? If you think I should put it on the x-over pipe, would it make a difference where on the pipe it is located?
Yo guys....i cant belive what im about to say....i somehow got a wild hair up my a$$ (ie..i was bored) so i decided to take a grinder to my mufflers ...needless to say i chopped off my flowmasters, in turn for straight pipes... who on earth (besides me) would do such a thing? its too loud and it sounds like a big redneck truck lol....specially since i have turndowns.....I dont want the flowmasters anymore.... i have tru duals, what would be the outcome if i decided to go with one (instead of two) flowmaster dual inlet/outlet? Im having some real problems figuring out what setup I want....Hate to say it but im debating on whether or not I want to buy an import or not *dodges the tomatoes being thrown @ him* but anyways, if anyone could help a poor guy out i'd really appreciate it!
Crowz Id keep the sensor right where it is, ford put i there for a reason, its not like its unneccisary, but you may be able to move it but i wouldent do it nor reccomend it.
I have a 96 and have it stright piped after the 2 cats,it sounds good but still to quiet.. I just got a catco high flow cat and will probley replace both cats..But started thinking could I put a cat on each side and run true duals with the one side only having 4cyl running to the o2 sensor? Or would it notice their is less gas running to it..?

ATC 250SX, I'm trashing the stock manifolds, "Y" pipe, cats and mufflers and going w/ a true dual exhaust. COME BACK.

Oh yeah, sorry about that, dont know what i was thinkin, i would measure the distance from the manifolt its closest to then put it the same distance back on the new pipe, now that i think of it, i dont think it matters as long as its in front of the cat, but i could be wrong there,
Oh yeah, and the sensor dosent care, it can run off just half the motor, it will be running the same on the other half that the sensor dosent know about, so yes one side will work just fine, my biddys chevy is like that, and it dosent have any issues at all.

Having my exhaust installed on friday the 30th. A true dual system w/ DYNOMAX long tube headers, no cats, 2 FM 40 series delta flows and 2 1/4" piping. The installer says he will put the O2 sensor on the crossover pipe, should be fine. Thanks to all you guys for your replies.
how much dose something like that run you, my biddys was 550 with out headers, 2 new cats, and two flowmaster 40's. sounded expensive to me but how are you gonna make out?
Has anyone had any troubles with their headers on a 90 F-150 with a 5.0 and a 5 speed....ive heard you may have to cut something, like a clutch cable or the frame? anybody heard of this?
