I just bought a 2000 F-150 4x4 XLT Sport and took it to a muffler shop here in town and the guy said that putting dual exhaust is dangerous because it can affect the O2 sensors and cause damage to the engine. If anyone knows anything about this please let me know. I would like to put dual exhaust on the truck and am curious to see if anyone else has done so or if anyone else has had any problems in doing so. Thank you for your information in advance.
I have a friend with a Gibson setup on his 98, no problems. Try the Gibson website, Borla website, or any of the dealers in Truckin or Off Road magazines. They can sell you the kit. I just ordered a single 3" kit for my 2000 150 4x4 5.4 because they say it makes more power and it's better if you tow anything.
Your installer is full of crap. I know of one truck here in Windsor, a 99 5.4, that has true duels and so far no problems. I have a Borla single in and duel out but I took it that you wanted 1 pipe/muffler for each side of the motor hence true duel.
