heres my build specs:
D3TE mirror 105 390 block bored .060 over
fully ported C4AE heads, milled .010
polished stock C4 intake mainfold
stock 390 crank and rods
holley 750 carb 2in 4 hole carb spacer
aluminum dished eyebrow pistons rated at 9.5 compression ratio
petronix electronic dizzy
9mm ford raceing plug wires
40,000 volt flame thrower coil
equal length 1 1/2 headers
flex-a-lite fan
oiling mods-suggested by the famous "Ratsmoker"
2 1/4 dual exhaust exiting before real wheels

desktop dyno says 375hp/4500 and 460ft/3500

Block was decked to the top of the pistons.

That's the difference-most truck FE engines have the piston located .112" down the bore. Earlier car 390's were from .005" to .020" down the bore.

That sounds a little high at .112" ... I used a '74 truck 360 block for my 390 build and the pistons were about .020-.030" below the deck when I took it apart... the motor was OEM, never rebuilt.

Sounds fishy...

An afterthought... that might be true for the FT heavy-duty truck motors, they have some very low compression like 7.x:1
