Electric for power

I was thinking about changing out my stock fan for the dual electric fans from flex-lite. I have no over-heating problems or anything like that, just looking from the most power I can pull out of this 5.4.

I have seen some post to claim all kinds of power and others say they didn't notice a difference...fill in the gap guys..

its not a bad mod but i would save my money!
you may see 10hp at the most! more like 5.
same with underdrive pullys. most auto makers already caught on to this and the gains on newer vehicals are very small!

I am not against the posiblility of more power from this type of mod, but untill I see some undisputable evidence ( before and after dyno charts on the 5.4L), I feel that your money would be better spent on a chip or exhaust.

I feel that the current OEM set up is hard to beat.

But if someone has some dyno charts on a 5.4L (or similar) motor, lets see 'em!

I spoke with the mechanic that works on my work's vehicles and he said about the same things that you guys are saying. 5 to 10 hp at best, not really worth the money.

He said another thing to consider is the chance of it going out or sticking off for some reason and your engine overheating...out here in California, where the temps get up to about 115 any given summer day, that's not good. I know there is a "chance" of anything going wrong, but why create problems?

Thanks for the feedback guys...

From: Under My Truck
I bought a pair of 16" fans, new in the box from a seller on ebay. They were $82 for the pair, shipped to my house.

I went to the autoparts store and bought a thermostat switch. One fan comes on with the truck, the other comes on when I turn on the AC and the temp climbs to 190. I know about heat, as I am in S.FL. I kept the stock thermostat the same.

Here is the kicker....my AC runs much cooler. The 2200cfm (ea) fans do a better job of drawing air across the condensor!

The bonus is the extra power my truck has now that it's not turning that nasty factory fan......
