No distributer
I have noticed a lack of power the last two weeks and today my truck finally gave up. I heard a pop and the engine died. When I pulled the distributer cap off and cranked the ignition, the rotor did not turn. In the last year I have replaced the timing gears with new fiber ones, the cam and lifters. any ideas what caused this. Cam gear maybe? I tried to turn the distributer by hand and it would turn about 1/4 inch either direction. could it just be the distributer? Is there a good upgrade for a 93? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yeah, I'd yank the front end apart again and get steel gears in there. The fiber ones are known to frag after a while. It is possible that the teeth got stripped off the cam or distributor, but I have never seen this on a 300-6. You can check this pretty easy by pulling the distributor and taking a look down at the cam gear.
