How does the 6AL hook up to a Dura Spark (electronic no points) ignition? I will be using the MSD Blaster SS coil also.
P.S. What do you all think of the MSD products? What is the DUI ignition I see mentioned here alot?

I've done it, but I have a '74 highboy that came with points originally, so I never had a stock wiring harness for the Duraspark.
The 6AL should come with enough instructions to do the job, but in case you are missing them:
I haven't got one yet. I was wanting to know in advance what to expect. I tried the msd website but as some of you might know I am blind. My screenreader doesn't work with pdf files. You would think that with all the pdf's out there they would make my screenreader work with them. So I was hopeing someone would take a minute and explain how it connects. Any help is greatly apprecaited.
The MSD 6 AL comes with a comprehensive install manual...It covers your system and is very easy to install, It also comes with all the bits, pieces, and wiring you require. You will be very happy with the result..they do what they claim...d44hd
I can't tell you how to install it with the Duraspark. I may be able to help later, by using character recognition to translate a scanned PDF for you.
I run a full MSD system. Billet Distributor, 6AL and one of their coils. I have replaced the magnetic pickup on the distributor 3 times. I blew an MSD 6AL easily while installing it. Their service is great. But, it is still inconvenient to deal with failures.
My vote, try the much simpler DUI. You can get one for less than the MSD distibutor, 6AL and coil price. It would cost only slightly more than the MSD 6AL and Coil. DUI distributor includes it's own ignition, coil and distributor. It's a 1 wire hook up. It does use vacuum, unlike the MSD distributor. DUI for FE motor cost is $359, including custom timing curve setup for your specific motor.

No problem! I had no idea!
There is a wiring harness that connects from the magnetic pickup connector on the 6al to the distributor. The wiring harness is part # 8860, which if I recall correctly, comes with the MSD unit. The harness has two wires, green for - and violet for +. Violet from the MSD connects to the orange wire from the distributor, Green from the MSD connects to violet from the distributor. The black wire from the dizzy is not used.
I put one of these things in my '74 F250 highboy and used this exact diagram. I'm pretty sure the wiring harness for the dizzy is included with the kit. I used the Duraspark plug instead of splicing directly into the wires from the dizzy so the dizzy sensor could be swapped without re-splicing.
You really have to re-time the motor after doing it, otherwise the MSD will probably sense slightly differently than the stock unit and the timing can be thrown way off.
The problem with PDF's and your reader is probably due to the format of PDF files, many times the character information is bitmapped instead of real ASCII characters. Maybe as workaround, you could print the PDF's and then scan and OCR them?
If you aren't getting the 6AL you don't need to change from the Duraspark. The dizzy isn't going to change performance like the MSD 6AL does. The DUI is simply a tuned electronic dizzy, nothing more. gtex, I'm sorry to hear of your probs with the MSD. I wouldn't use a dizzy without vacuum advance on the street, I think you would have been happier with a set-up Duraspark hooked to your 6AL.

I blew one too, but by disconnecting the + from the coil, which after doing it, I should have known NOT to do. However, they should really warn the user that it's so easy to blow it up.
Don't know if this helps, but I have the Pro billet distributor and the 6AL box....
The 6AL box has 7 wires. One each to power and ground ( I thought it was strange that the power lead wasn't fused), one each to the coil plus and minus, one each to the distributor plus and minus, and finally one to the ignition positive.
