Trying to make a degreasing wand/gun to run off my compressor.(I know you can buy them but they are made poorly and don't hold up). I need to make 3 of them. I have one made but it will not siphon chemical from my gallon container on the ground. I have an 8 foot tube coming from the bottom of the 1/8" T fitting. I think the problem is the T fitting does not have a venturi that will cause the downtube to siphon. how do I solve this? Thnaks
Put a smaller tube in the downspout fitting that screwed into the siphon part of T. it still does not siphon. Must be bcause the T does not have a venturi to increase air speed thereby decreasing pressure to set up vacuum for siphoning. I have been on internet all morning trying to find a T venturi that will work with air pressure to siphon liquid, but can't find anything. Seems such a simple fitting would be available somewhere.
I wish I could show you a picture but my son has my camera in Houston at the moment. I don't have any packaging. The die cast (zinc) housing has an air inlet and liquid inlet hose barb on the "but" end. A length of plastic line came with the unit. It says Engine Cleaner on the side. There is a trigger button for air control and a volume control needle valve for the liquid. The actual liquid/air mixing occurs in an angled nozzle on the end of the 10" wand.
Neither of these is as nice as the unit I have. I purchased it at a local tool store that sells compressors, automotive tools, SK hand tools, etc, mainly professional stuff.
I have had more luck with heavy engine grease with a pressure washer.
Thanks, I will look for one. I still wish I could find the right T with a venturi so I could build my own out of copper and brass fittings. It would be so so simple to make if yuou had a T with a venturi.
I just saw one in a new Cummins Tool store the other day. Item number 1117 costs $4.99 and is very similar to the one I have but I think mine was higher priced.
