Question Turbo Question

Hey ya'll. I have heard Powerstokes that have nice loud turbos and Powerstokes that you can barely hear the turbo. Do the turbos have a silencer in the turbo? I know the Dodge/Cummins has a silencer in the intake of the turbo. I was wondering if the Powerstroke turbo has something similar.

There's no silencer in the turbo on these trucks. The difference is that some have a restrictive enough exhaust system to hide the sound. If you were to run a straight pipe, you'd get plenty of turbo sound.

May also be the intake. The stock airbox is pretty quiet, whereas the big open element's will really let her sing.
