Silencer ring????????
I have a 2003 6.0 and I was wandering if the turbo has a silencer ring. My buddy has a dodge diesel and he took his silencer ring out. It sounds good and I know that the dodges are naturally louder due to the 6 cylinders. Sondo the ford stock turbos have them and if so how do I take it out?

Yup, there's one in there. It's part of the housing though and would need to be cut out and the contour re-worked to the right shape. A milling machine would be the best way. I don't think it will make much difference in sound or power, might even lose a little power as the ring directs airflow smoothly into the vanes. I've heard a few guys discuss this but it's not a popular mod.
