Always on? OR Always on when the truck is running? OR Always on when the truck is running AND the temp is cold?

Heated Mirrors...page 55
Both main mirrors are heated automatically to remove ice, mist and fog. The mirrors are automatically activated when the vehicle is started.
Note: The mirrors may be hot to the touch but will not burn. This is the normal condition.
The mirror heating elements are designed to operate regardless of the geographic location of the vehicle. There is no switch to turn on, or other operator involvement required other than to start the vehicle.
The spotter mirror, below the main mirror, in not heated...
We are getting snow tonight so we will see how the mirrors work....

I pulled this from another thread -- credit where it's due, these are Yeti's instructions:
I can tell you how right now. Their are 4 nuts holding the mirror on.
First pull the black plastic cover on the inside of the door off, its where the top of the door and the window meet by the mirror.
Take the two larger rubber plugs out, now all 4 nuts should be visible.
If you have power mirrors, you will have to take the inner door panel off and peel back the sound barrier stuff and fish your hand in to unplug the mirror from the connecting plug. To take the panel off you have to pull your switches up from the panel, and remove the screw that holds the panel to the door, also remove the lower reflector and remove the screw , the panel will lift up , turn your switch panel to the side so it will slide through.
With the window down, so you can hold the mirror, remove the 4 nuts, carefull as so they dont fall into the door.
Put it all back together the way it came apart, should take you about 15 to 20 minutes per door.
Now a comment of my own -- if you're taking the door panels off, go ahead and put some Dynamat on. That stuff's not only great for performance sound systems, but it'll help anyone who wants to have a little less road noise in the cab. Start with the doors when you're doing your mirrors... and you'll find out that as soon as you've got some time you're doing the whole cab.
Also, TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES!!! I would really like to see the wiring harness and anything else you take apart in there. Maybe if someone does the heated mirrors mod, they might be willing to put together a parts list & instructions w/ pictures... sounds like article to publish on FTE... what does or Moderator think about that?

The OM says, on p55; "Both main mirrors are heated automatically to remove ice, mist and fog. The mirrors are automatically activated when the vehicle is started. Note: The mirrors may be hot to the touch but will not burn. This is a normal condition. The mirror heating elements are designed to operate regardless of the geographic location of the vehicle. There is no switch to turn on, or other operator involvement required other than to start the vehicle. The spotter mirror, below the main mirror, is not heated and must be adjusted manually."
Edit: Oops! Sorry. Should have read through the rest of the thread before answering.

About 150. I don't get out much.
I like everything about this truck. It is a ball to drive.
Shifting the transmission is like moving a stick in a bucket of molasses in January (in Minnesota) and I have trouble getting into the lower gears (R or L or 1) when stopped. I hope that this is just *newness* and that it will loosen up with use.
