i have a 99 f-250 superduty i just upgraded to power heated towing mirrors. i had the paddle mirrors. my truck does not have the hook up for power mirrors or the heated hook up. i bought the new bezel and mirror switch and the pig tail that hooks up to the switch from the dealer.the pig tail has 8 wires and all are black. the mirrors are after market and are perfect fit and matching mirrors nice quality. i have a hayes manual and it shows nothing for diagrams for the mirror switch. the dealer told me it is not possible to hook up these mirrors because my trucks wire harness is not set up for this i disagree. i just need to find out which wires are which from the new mirror switch pig tail. any help would be grateful thanks in advance.
Do you have numbers on the switch? The diagram I have (thanks Dave, aka Racerguy) shows a switch that is for the up/down, left/right adjustments, and has a control for mirror selection(drivers or pass side).
In the diagram, the switch terminals are numbered 1 through 8.
1=power in from a fuse
2=power in for a little light inside the switch
3=power out to the passenger side left/right motor
4=power out to the drivers side left/right motor
5=ground
6=common motor return for both mirrors, 2 motors each. All four return wires for the motors go to this terminal(it is not ground, the motors are not grounded).
7=power out to the driver's side up/down motor
8=power out to the passenger side up/down motor
the switch i have is Ford part #3C3T-17B676-AAW PA66 yes it is a switch with up-down left-right adjustments and a little switch on top for drivers- pass mirror selection. it has no numbers on or near the terminals in on the underside of the switch or the new pig tail connector i have. i thank you for your reply you sound very knowledgable please reply.
