Trailer Tow Mirrors with Turn Signals for '04 Ex

I am looking to replace the paddle style mirrors on my '04 Ex limited with the Ford OEM Trailer Tow mirrors and understand there are several different mirrors and part numbers (possibly separate numbers for the mirror and turn signal cover). I am looking for the new style Trailer Tow mirrors with the remote-control / heated / integral-turn-signal / integral-running-light type.

Does anyone have the correct part numbers ? Also, any idea how much they cost ?

Thanks for your help.

Mike

I myself am looking to replace my paddle mirrors. One thing is for sure, they're definately not cheap. My dealer (as well as another) said it was about $500-$600 to get the mirrors. You can probably land yourself a good deal if you check on ebaymotors. But when they're on ebay, they go fast; so bid fast and bid strong. There are certain Ford parts wholesale sites around, it you check you might be able to get them below dealer cost. I'm doing some research, if and when something turns up, I'll be the first to post on it. Best wishes.

There are tons of them on e-bay BUT most dont have the turn/run lights and heat. The few that are on there are high.Like as in 3-400 a set. Beware and read the fine print though.90% are NOT ford parts but aftermarket knock offs.

I am a frequent E-bayer with close to 100 transactions and cannot find a single Ford OEM TT mirror, heated with lights on E-bay. I even searched "completed auctions" and cannot find any that were sold.

Fomoco_1, Where have you seen a "few" for 3-400 (the 10% you stated that are Ford parts)?

I would buy it today if I could find it. Or at the very least I could contact the seller who sold them to see if he could acquire more.

Help us out here....

I bought the trailer tow mirrors with signals for my 04 from my dealer. I think they charged $450. There is two part numbers for each side. One is the mirror assembly and the other is the back cover. Installation is a simple swap, completely plug and play. I don't have the part numbers with me, but I can look for my receipt and post them later.

Do an online search for Buckeye Ford in London, OH. I got mine there ... was $400 over a year ago. Their webpage will provide info on how to contact the parts department.

Here are the part numbers for the telescopic power heated signal trailer tow mirrors from Ford:

4C3Z17683EAA - MIR ASY
4C3Z17682EAA - MIR ASY
4C3Z17D743BAA - TR ASY R
4C3Z17D742BAA - TR ASY R

The "MIR ASY" is the majority of the mirror and the "TR ASY R" is the back cover of the mirror which has the signal and parking light in it.

Here's a genuine ford parts dealer (online) that has new Excursion tow mirrors on clearance ($340 for a pair, excl. shipping)... I'd suggest you call their toll free number to verify it has what you want before putting into the order cart...

Hi, Just want to be sure on your comment before I look into this any further myself. I have a 2002 "X" right now with tow mirrors. But I really dig the tows with the integrated signal.
So if I understand according to "Eddie Ex Sr" that this is a plug and play swap....Meaning that the wire harness that goes to the mirrors is prewired for the turn signal style mirrors. I would hate to order mirrors only to find that there is no factory installed wiring to support this option on certain vehicles.
Thanks for the great forum!
Take Care,
John

I have a 2004, and on my truck it was plug and play. I believe that a pre-2003 would require some manual wiring to make the lights work properly.

Based on the picture, these are not the ones we have been discussing. They are lacking the turn signal and running light.

But Thanks for looking!
