HEATED MIRRORS????

Heated trailer tow mirrors are a $300 (CAN) option on the '03 SDs. Non-heated, for you guys out there who like to rough it, were a $195 (CAN) option. Woulda been the best $105 I ever spent.

HEATED MIRRORS????

>>>it is my understanding that if your mirrors were to have heaters in them they also would have directionals in them also.
>
>My heated mirrors do not have turn signals built in.
>
>_____________

That must be because I was looking at an 02 manual ,excursions in 02 had that option Maybe!
If your mirrors have an extra Dark green/violet wire
amd black wire(ground)in a connector you have the heater element.

Darn stupid conviences anyway!!!!!!!!!

FWIW - The mirror heaters on my F350(see below) are always on...no switch.
These are the power trailer tow mirrors with the built-in turn signal and running light.

It will take a lot more than TT mirrors to make your X more manlier, I hate to break it to you in such a mean way , and I hope I don't get repremanded by the FORUM POLICE for it BUT I'll take my chances.

Time to lay down the law at Monsta village and tell Mrs. Monsta that you want to go play with the big boys and that your taking $10,000....make that $15,000 from your joint account and buying some bolt-ons for the family truckster. Please take pictures of yourself after the beating for my amussement.

HEATED MIRRORS????

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 21-Nov-02 AT 08:44 PM (EST)]>Haroutd, stop calling the Excursion an Expe. Call it an
>"X" or something... Expedition mirrors (if that is what you
>were referring to) are NOT interchangable.
Sorry about that; an SUV is an SUV... Expedition, Excursion, whatever... it's so easy to mix 'em up - seen one sport ute, seen e'm all. (Then again, I've always had cognative problems like that)

>If anyone wants my elephant ear, HEATED MIRRORS, for their
>TT mirrors. Drop me a line.
OK on a serious note, I thought "elephat ears" were the name for the TT's & not the smaller ones in your pic -- just want to make sure I have the right vernacular.

>Heat is for sissies. :P
>Just like ESOF. If anyone wants that too then.....
>
ESOF for sissies? Thems is fighting words... Draw! Would ya' look at that; a bus driver calling other people sissies?

>Haroutd, this thread got me thinking too. I'm thinking that
>if I have the same power trailer tow mirrors on my F350 that
>have heat on the EX, then seeing as how Ford is really
>cheap, they might be exactly the same, just not wired. What
>do you think?
Waxy, I think we should go tear into MNCamper's truck and see if we can't figure it out together! Tell ya what -- I get to keep his left mirror & you get to keep the right one! We'll split the modules/timers, too (one for me, one for you...)

HEATED MIRRORS????

Did I hear ESOF?
My buddy said his '03 EXCURSION (Me spell the whole thing, Monsta....see I do have some respect) has heated mirrors. Don't remember if they have a switch or if they are on a timer. I'll have to find out.

Check my reply on this post. https://www.ford-trucks.com/dcforum/DCForumID1/525.html Then YOU tell me.

Would ya' look at that; a bus driver calling other people sissies?

I'll tell you what. I'll let you drive my bus around for a day but with my 6 kids in it! Then we'll see who's the sissy! Just trying to get them all in the darn thing is enough to make a grown man cry. But I deal with it...cause I'm a manly man.

Excursion' s control their heated mirrors by the rear defroster control, as stated by FortyFords. That is why I assumed that retro-fitting heated mirrors onto the pickups should need some type of timer control. Guess not...unless the heating element has changed.

HEATED MIRRORS????

As many people that have knocked the glass out of the big mirrors and replaced them, I would think someone would have noticed an unused heater by now.

Oh and Monsta, you shouldn't be so offended by the Expedition comment... the "special" kids get to ride the small bus.
