I need a PCM for my 06 E450. Went to the Ford Parts site and entered the VIN# but can't get a PCM to come up so I can get a part number.
I want to buy a used one. There's several on Ebay. How do I know if it will work for my truck? Are there different versions? Flash levels? Can I mess up by getting the wrong one? Do I need to update the one I get to my truck's VIN? VIN# is 1FDXE45P76DB36409

Thanks, Mark. So, I do need the exact same part number? I ask because I see others that are for 2006 E450s with 6.0 with different part#s. Do I need to have it flashed to my VIN or would ProTech do that before shipping?
Sorry, but I really don't know many specifics about compatibility of PCM's from year models other than the original. I do know that it certainly can matter, but what years do and what years don't, I haven't paid attention to.
Different question: I thought a lot of the difference between Eseries 6.0s and Fseries was the PCM programming. However, I'm seeing PCMs on Ebay that claim they work on both E- and F-series. Does that make sense? I wouldn't want a 325hp engine in my 235hp Eseries.
