Smog pump and AC delete

Has anyone gotten rid of both the smog pump pulley and ac pulley on their 92-97 with a 302/351? I didn't find much info on it online but I think it may be possible to do. This diagram I made is what I was thinking of how the belt can be routed.

If it were me, swap your idler for a ribbed pulley so you can route above it. That would assist in it not hitting water pump between alternator and power steering. I haven’t done this though.

If you put an A/C delete pulley on it, my belt ended up being 88.5" with no smog pump on a 351W.

Well 92 was last year of the 2G and 93 was first of the 3G...this changes thing as the bracket changed on pass side with the tensioner. Are either locked up? If not, why waste time and money removing them?

Are the brackets interchangeable and can I use my 3g alternator on the 2g bracket? I did a Quick Look online and idk if they are the same.

Driver side appears the same to me, passenger not at all. Never looked as I try not to make my life convoluted. Just look at a photo of a 92MY small block alt versus the 93MY small block one.

One could probably acquire a Fox 5.0 AC bypass pulley to remove that aspect. Yet, if not locked why waste the cash and time? Not going to gain anything but a lighter wallet

Would assume can use a 92 and earlier pass bracket if wanted, never tried

I don’t see how that would keep tension on the belt and not squeal.

Yes but what 3G alternator do you have? Two bolt or three bolt?

Correct. The alternator used is completely different but they both bolt up the same way

Yes and no benefit to removing them when you can keep as an idler pulley for free.

That depends on how far back you want to go because the belt routing and tensioner location was different on the ‘89 than the ‘94 serp system I have now.
