Alternator bracket

Hello everyone, I'm new to the 300 i6 and I got a 1994 F-150 with a 4.9 in trade for some mechanic work. My first task is eliminating the emissions. My problem is the rather large aluminum alternator bracket has to go. The smog pump has been removed and I've ordered a Clifford 6 = 8. Does anyone know what bracket that is compatible with my engine. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Welcome to FTE

Thing is I think your setup uses the 1 belt serp setup and that is were the problem is as that setup was never made with out a smog pump.
The other is I think the water pump turns backwards from the V belt setup but not 100% sure on that.

Now talking V belt even the later years had a smog pump but the ears on the ALT / Smog pump bracket that hold the smog pump could be cut off and reshape the bracket to look ok. Thing is getting all the pulleys to work with your set up could be hard to find.

Take it you have AC where is the pump for it mounted?
Note for the 80 - 86 300 six had V belts but had think it was 3 maybe 4 different pulley setups thru the years.
Non-PS
Non-AC
AC York pump
AC and the other pump I cant remember the name now

Then you have the van setup that used a different PS pump but I cant remember if the pulleys were different between the 2 different pumps as I only have the van PS pump setup on my truck but had no AC pulleys or brackets.
IIRC the water pump V belt pulleys are different between AC / Non.
and the crank balancer / pulley is different AC / Non.

Oh there was something about the belts for the smog pump / ALT if you had AC or not.
Think AC had 1 belt for the ALT and the non AC had 2 belts and that seams backwards to me but was Fords way to do it.

I would look into maybe cutting down the bracket you have now and reshaping it to look better and be done with it.

Have you looked up in the 87> truck area to see if there is a post on what you want to do?

I have looked at allot of notes on this. The belt was just shortened. I think it's a 6 rib. It all works good now but the bracket even cut down will not allow for the Clifford, hooker or headman headers. Most applications show an older Ford bracket with washers but I don't think there dealing with my setup. I think this is one of the last few years of the 300. If I can find something close maybe I can modify it. I was just wondering if anyone else had run into this and maybe had a better solution. Thanks for responding.
