ac pump question

ac pump question

if i unplug the wire going to the clutch on my ac pump will it be stuck on or off and can i put a belt for a truck with no ac on a truck with ac? thanks

If you unplug the compressor it will stay in the off position, or the pully will freewheel, as far as the belts you may go to an autoparts store and check for different part numbers.

On some models/years, they placed a pulley in place of the a/c pump. My '90 F150, 302 requires either the a/c pump or a pulley in it's position to route the belt properly. The pulley and it's bracket can probably be found at a wrecker. ...Terry

You can also purchase a pulley that allows for the removal of the A/C compressor at parts stores. I found one at Advance for about $25.00.
