AC pump locked up need help
My AC pump locked up and stalled out the motor I took the belt off and got it back to my apartment. Is there anything I can try to do to get the pump freed up and if not what do I do I'm at school and need to drive it home next week. I know there is a bypass pulley you can get but the pump needs to come out and my tools are somewhat limited here. How hard is it to get the pump out.

its the 5.4, it was making a rattling type noise for a little while then one time i turned on the AC to see what would happen and it locked up. I turned off the AC but it is still locked up. I bought a belt for a truck with no AC and if I run it around the tensioner the wrong way its about an inch or 2 short. Does anyone know a belt size that will work.

I dont' think it's the compressor itself. I think the bearing for the pulley went bad. When the clutch pulled in it probably pulled it so it all locked together. If you found a way to wrap the belt that bypasses the compressor, unfortunately you will probably just have to play with the belt sizes, or take a piece of string and wrap it the way the belt should go and measure it.
